Self-Healing is more than just physical. It is a healing of your vibration, your energy wave signal that is your consciousness and how you, energetically speaking, connect to others. Some people are born psychic, naturally open to their environment, while others stay mired within the limited vibrations of fear, guilt and unworthiness. As I talk about in my upcoming book, The Pet Psychic, anyone can learn to play the piano, just as anyone can study to open psychically. Will all excel equally, most likely not, unless unseen forces, such as what you call Spirit Guides, assist.
After one sets out an intention of WHY they are meditating and have begun the process of seeking out a path of meditation, I would recommend also seeking out a set of “hands on treatments” by an Energy Practitioner. This can be attending a healing hands service through a church, Reiki, a form of sound healing, Crystal Healing or even Past Life Regression. There is no set path, for every person seeking out enlightenment will have a unique vibration that requires a unique set of “healing.” Personally, I have allowed “coincidence” to provide me the proper practitioner, and then I accept my intuition to sense whether to proceed with a regimen of “treatments.” I have taken part in weekly thirty-minute treatments that satisfied my needs, just as I received one Past Life Regression that continued as a set of dreams for weeks afterwards. Without getting too deep into the truth behind reality, we are living in a linear, moment by moment existence, while we have already existed during our entire lifespan. With that said, just a few moments in the presence of a practitioner could be all one requires to receive continuing “downloads” of “information” or healing “adjustments” for weeks… or longer. Beyond seeking out the aid of an individual practitioner, I would recommend attending led meditations where your original intention is paramount. I would go to a drumming meditation with the intention of meeting a spirit or animal guide. Or I would attend a crystal bowl sound healing just because I felt “off” or uncentered. I can think of occasions when I would think, “Eh” after the meditation only to have a profound dream or meditation afterwards. And just as many times I would enjoy a “Aha” moment while sitting amongst the group. And then there is the possibility of attending a training, or a group set of classes, where an experienced teacher will teach you how to go into a meditative state, or how to administer a specific form of Energy Healing. Even with hundreds of students present, I’ve had profound healing experiences while participating in such classes. Just as I’ve been the sole student while taking classes with another. Again, allow intuition, and coincidence, or what I call the infinite knowledge of the Universe to guide you. Be your own advocate, and your own gauge of completion. Trust what you are sensing. And understand that you can choose to plateau at any time, just as you may choose to advance deeper and deeper down the “rabbit hole” of possibilities. You are the guide to your own destiny… Choose wisely my friend, Suzy & Yellow Dog 😊

Spirit Guides, such as my trusted invisible friend, Yellow Dog, are how I can best explain what I am experiencing. Some may say that I am tapping into a version of myself existing within an alternative vibration or dimension. Another explanation is that I am remembering a personality from one of my past lives. Since I resonate to most of the logic taught through the Spiritualist Church, and indigenous cultures, I believe the alternative thoughts I am receiving are from various Spirit Guides, or people other than I who don’t live in my current time.
As with any information received from a trusted friend, I weigh my options before I act. Because the intention of love and joy and trust is present, I value the opinion of these Spirit Guide Friends, just as I value the opinion of friends in my current three-dimensional reality. And just like my friends in 3-d have personalities and talents, so do my Spirit Guides. Like the concept of a Guardian Angel, I believe my Spirit Guides have been with me since birth, or rather I always had them around, ready to access, if I so chose this ability. The intention here is the key. Ask yourself your intended purpose for learning to meditate, and keep this intention throughout your meditation learning process, and the proper Spirit Guide will develop a friendship with you. Is my imagination providing me with the particulars about Yellow Dog? Perhaps. But the subsequent information I have received after I developed a relationship with this “imaginary” friend is not imaginary. For when I believe I am contacting Yellow Dog, when I can sense his presence, feel his voice, I also think like he does. And since he was a shapeshifter, a man who hunted prey by becoming the consciousness of said prey, I, too, have developed an understanding of his ability, an ability that helps me in my Animal Communication vocation. Developing a relationship with a Spirit Guide is but honing into the common interest two people share. And since my desire was to merge with the consciousness of an animal, and Yellow Dog had said ability, he was attracted to me, and I to him. And since I know his personality, and can sense his presence, I feel confident with the information I receive when I communicate with a client’s pet. How did I first become aware of Yellow Dog’s presence? As I retell towards the end of my book, The Awakened Psychic, I became fully aware of the personality of Yellow Dog in March of 2005, about a year and a half after I first began to practice mediation with the intention of developing my awareness into that of an Animal Communicator. You see, my original Spirit Guides changed when my ability to do “readings” had progressed. My path was to take classes in the form of an energy healing modality called Reiki. Not only did understanding and sensing the Universal Life Force Energy of Reiki help to open me up to psychic phenomenon, and heal my physically damaged shoulder and back, but the energy of Reiki, along with my intention to read animals, opened my ability to BECOME a psychic. If you are sensitive enough to understand psychic phenomenon, then you most likely will sense your body, and your awareness of reality, shifting as you progress through your intended evolution. This may manifest as a “holy sh—t” blast of bright light while sleeping. Or it may come as a gentle wave of overly loving joy. Keep the intention of love and light with you, and rest assured that you will evolve towards your desired goal. Safe Travels my Friend, Suzy 😊 Stillness, this simple answer is the key to meditation. Still the mind, still the body, quiet the room, quiet the mind, focus upon the intent, and then allow the experience to unfold.
The above was how Yellow Dog describes the mystery of meditation. He made it sound so simple. But my Catholic School raised psyche struggled with staying “safe” while venturing into the unknown. I needed a program, dance steps that would summon my meditative state from the depths of my overly active thinking mind. I read books about the subject, I attended classes and workshops in techniques, and I experimented with the ideas I gleaned from these experiences, threw out what didn’t work and incorporated those that did. Eventually I developed a personal practice that works for me. One that my patience can wait for, my fear-based mind can accept, and one that my damaged ego can handle. I experimented with the use of crystals lying upon my seven chakras while I’d lay still in my bed. But this was far more complex (and in a way simplistic too) than me simply buying a few crystals and placing them on my body. If you’re interested in how I overcame my emotional blocks, and what I experienced, then please read The Awakened Psychic. Because I personally had much religion-based fear to chip away from, I needed a complex ritual that would help still my primitive flight or fight response. This might not be your worry, or burden. So, please don’t fall into the “recipe” of others. But rather find the recipe of meditation success for you. Intention is a valuable asset, as are the positive emotions of joy, and love, and peace. Begin your meditation bathed within these emotions, and the television station, or radio wave, you tap into will always be one of the same. Many chose to listen to a heartbeat-like rhythm. For this allows the thinking brain to leave, and the inner consciousness to hear the heartbeat that we all have within. Some enjoy listening to gentle rolling ocean waves which may mimic the blood moving within. You see, there are many, many noises that the human form constantly transmits, and your thinking-mind ignores, and the greatest of these noises is the breath. The Yogi Masters have understood this path for millennia. Just still your moving body, and your thinking mind, into stillness and listen to your breathing. If this is difficult for you, then purchase another’s CD of music, drumming or some percussion that emulates the natural rhythm of your breath. Then focus upon the noise, focus upon your breathing, and allow any thoughts to drift away. Become the breath, the action of breathing, the rhythm of the beat. Only then will your thinking mind let go and allow alternative thoughts and experiences to enter. You most likely will experience a near sleep flash of a dream sequence. This alternative living scenario could be very realistic and throw your thinking mind back into your body and abruptly end the meditation. Any end of an experience is not a failure, but an achievement to have seen a flash of existence beyond your current reality. I realize your current society mocks those who follow their dreams. This is but another form of control over the masses. Stifle the individual’s ability to think for self, and then this individual will NEED the government, the religion, or a chosen leader to provide the answer. This may be hard to understand, but you are in control of your own happiness, success and destiny. Yes, you function within the group of a society, but your individual goals are set by… YOU. Unlock those hidden dreams and potential within self. Still your mind, follow the beat of your heart & breath, and allow your true purpose to emerge. Rest assured that you are not selfish. You are simply discovering the purest form of YOU. The best form of yourself; your desires, your strengths, and your creative possibilities. And only with this confidence can you proceed into further and deeper realms of existence. Enjoy the Journey my friend… Enjoy the Journey, Suzy & Yellow Dog A Purpose for Meditating, or a desire for the outcome, is what I challenge your mind to consider. Many people meditate for the simple sensation of relaxation, that escape from the agitated mind and muscles that run their hamster-wheel of life. But I’m suggesting developing your awareness in these blog entries. So, I challenge you to set a purpose for your meditation.
There are many, many ways you may proceed in this endeavor. Is there a certain topic of information that you want to receive? Do you want to understand who or what is supplying you with the knowledge or ideas you are receiving while in a meditative state? Are you curious to reach out to a specific person or animal to share a conscious state of understanding with? Do you want to transcend time and communicate with beings that are no longer alive in your current timeline? These are but a few ideas you may consider. I write about the challenges and triumphs I experienced when developing as a medium who talks to “dead people,” and as a pet psychic who communicates with both living, and “dead” pets. My first publication, The Skeptic Psychic, delt with my fear of who, or what, was supplying me with the knowledge I was receiving. My mind NEEDED to associate the source of the information, the brief blasts of visions, the previously unknown knowledge, even the syncopation of “talking in tongues.” And when I heard those foreign words, and could remember enough to write them down, I also developed the ability to speak in tongues. But your path could be totally different from mine. Einstein and Tesla both received inspirational knowledge from an unknown source, and they did not fear, nor did they need to understand, the personality, or personalities, of the supplier of those ideas that would flood their minds. With this said, you, too, may not choose to understand the unseen being on the “other side” providing you with insight. There is no correct or incorrect here, just desire and intent. But understand that unresolved emotions can, and will, be a block in your journey. I was raised as a Catholic and programmed to believe in the existence of unseen “evil” beings that meant to cause me harm. This fear of the unknown was part of my journey to heal from. Experimentation, lots of it, has convinced me that there is no evil, just societal restrictions created to hold the population in check. Fear can keep the masses compliant while the few enjoy the abundance of ruling, a paternal practice our current culture has been successful practicing for thousands of years. But this is not how our ancestors existed. Communal cultures of love and acceptance of diversity have thrived over the millennia. An ancestral culture without fear of having enough food, or being destroyed, or being shunned, or anyone of the plethora of tactics that the ruling class uses to remain in charge is foreign to many, but the norm to some indigenous cultures of today. In my upcoming book, The Pet Psychic, I site some of these indigenous cultural beliefs, what our modern culture calls “Shamanism,” and use the concept of “merging” with the consciousness of an animal to communicate with my client’s pets. I, personally, practiced merging through meditation, or “journeying” with a species of an animal. Like me, your meditation practice may focus upon a wolf, a rabbit, a horse or any species. This is yet another focus to hone your meditation practice into. Your intention might be to “astral travel,” a practice what our ancestors have mastered and you, too, can perfect. Fear of “not returning” could have been placed within your psyche, but rest assured, I’ve always awoken using a simple step of intention. Before I meditate, I tell myself I want to lapse into a meditation of a set time length. Ten minutes is sufficient, and you might even set a timer to “wake yourself up.” Intention is a powerful tool. And once I set out the intention of a time limit, I frequently pulled out of the meditation experience after the pre-set time allowance, as I’m sure you will too. Intention is the key here. What do YOU want to experience? Ponder this question and return with an answer, then we will proceed onto the next step of exploration. … for now… Namaste, Suzy 😊 Awareness is more than an emotion, it is a vibration, a state of mind, or a state of being. I’m using this blog entry to help you understand how to expand your awareness to achieve a meditation experience. Creating a new reality when existing within the five accepted senses of seeing, hearing, tasting, feeling and smelling can be difficult at first. Allow me to share a story of how I created an expanded state in real-time.
I was a lifeguard, and this was when I noticed I could alter my awareness and still be present enough to perform my duties. Yes, when I first opened the pool in the morning my mind would be disciplined into following the protocol of taking money, noting member’s names, and counting bobbing heads. But when the pool was nearly empty, I had the opportunity to switch my awareness, and eaves drop into other people’s awareness. Allow me to clarify further… There was a group of five elderly gentlemen that I called the Roman Bath Club who frequented the pool I worked at. They wouldn’t really swim, rather they would all congregate in one corner of the pool and lounge with their arms draped around the poolside, chest half out of the water, and lazily converse, while allowing their buoyant bodies to bob in rhythm with the gentle current created by the gutter of the nearby pool’s filtration system. Their conversation varied from “who died,” to politics, to complaints of illnesses and inept doctors. But even in the rare occasion when a few disparities would arrive, the men always stayed calm, and reflective, as they weighed out their options, as if freeing their minds up to the supportive waters. Their state of awareness was one of calm acceptance as they allowed their bodies to be suspended in the pool, just as they seemingly allowed their opinions to be weighed by the other friends within their group. This is more than a simple emotion of relaxation. For each person’s body was experiencing physical stimuli that transformed the group into a shared state of awareness. One of calm, unity, friendship and acceptance. I even wonder if this group of elderly gentlemen were, unknowingly, tapping into an unseen source of knowledge generated by some higher beings who supplied them with ideas and solutions to achieve their oneness of common agreement. When I projected my consciousness, and allowed my ears to eaves drop while perched in my lifeguard chair, I could sense their group state of relaxation. I could feel my body becoming less dense, as if I, too, were floating in the water. And the more I allowed myself to absorb their reality, the clearer their words became, as did the associated noises around them. The bubbler of the filtration system was louder. The nearby child’s yelling voice a little higher pitched, and the overall sense of well-being, or rather lack of worry over obligations, floated into me as well. I wanted to retire like these gentlemen! Perhaps this expanded state of awareness and acceptance was why the Romans socialized in their communal baths? For the achievement of that expanded state of oneness was the purpose. A group of men all thinking as one mind, reasoning as one mind, and all reaching a group agreement. I believe this expanded state of individuals melding into group awareness can be achieved by each of us. I’m using this real time example of five men functioning as a group of agreeing individuals to illustrate meditation. Just like I, as the lifeguard, expanded my awareness to eaves drop into these men’s conversation, so too can I expand my awareness outward to listen to people who are not physically in my presence. I realize this sounds unbelievable, but so is talking on a telephone to another person who is not physically in your presence. If the frequency is correct, and the listener is relaxed and open to receiving, there are a plethora of unseen voices just waiting to be heard, and likeminded beings waiting to communicate. But first the listener, the person wanting to meditate, needs to find a process to achieve a state of relaxation. The womb-like sensation of floating in water has worked for me. Yes, it might not be conducive to float in a public, or even a private swimming pool when you attempt to meditate, but you can choose to soak in a tub of water or enjoy a long shower. The water is not only healing, but it will allow the monkey-brain, that thinking and worrying and problem-solving side of your existence to simply float away and be replaced by the secure embrace of the water. Once this state of relaxation is achieved, accept your solitude, allow your five senses to dull into nothingness, deprive yourself of stimuli, and seek out the stillness of a blank movie screen in a quiet theater. Then you may lapse into states of awareness beyond that of simple relaxation. You may fall asleep, stay awake and loose a sense of time, or you may receive a memory, vision, or idea that is out of place with how your current mind perceives reality. This is but one path used to achieve the meditative state that will help you to control how to expand your awareness. Yes, there is soooo much more to meditation, becoming aware, and developing your psychic self. My next entry will delve deeper into how one can direct their expanded state towards a specific goal. Set the stage, enjoy the journey, and explore with your heart full of promises, for now… Namaste, Suzy 😊 I’m creating this set of blog entries as an ongoing workbook, or instructions that will not only compliment my upcoming book, The Pet Psychic, but hopefully will inspire you, my reader, to evolve. Unlike the rest of my Energy Awareness Publications which share my perspective when developing as a psychic/medium, an animal communicator and an energy healer, The Pet Psychic focuses specifically on how one develops as an Animal Communicator, a vocation that I’ve worked at for almost twenty years.
Surprisingly to me, I wrote this book over the course of less than two months this past winter. Perhaps I was hurried into this project when I knew I was about to retire, or perhaps it was the lingering minds of the clients I was reading. But there was a nagging need to know lurking in my mind. This was only spurred onward by the clients I’ve been reading over the phone who have been surprised by not only my accuracy, but the fact that I can read a pet in the first place. Their genuine curiosity left me wondering too, and I’d frequently fall asleep questioning if reading animals could be really that hard to understand for the average person. To be honest, since the pandemic, I’ve become accustomed to my ability to sit in my office, alone, and project my consciousness out into “the ethers.” In the small circle of friends which I socialize through, we all consider expanded states of consciousness as being the norm. But something about this past winter’s clients set my mind to thinking just HOW I was able to merge with the consciousness of animals. As oftentimes happens when I set out an intention to receive previously unknown-to-me knowledge, I would wake up and simply know the answers, or at least have clues of what I could recall from my sleep state. Since it was winter, I’d get up early, go downstairs, and type into my computer for hours. My first intention was to simply allow the information to explode into my ongoing personal journal, but the information I wrote, or rather channeled, from my spirit guide, Yellow Dog, was rather enlightening, so I’ve decided to make the effort and publish The Pet Psychic. This new work has merit on its own, and even though Yellow Dog explains HOW an expanded state of awareness works, he doesn’t really provide the steps to achieve success. It is my hope that these blog entries will supply any “would be reader” of The Pet Psychic with more tools to better understand such a difficult topic. I’ll be posting more blog entries as the inspirational writing process happens. Developing as an Animal Communicator is not a secret for the few to discover, but a process that anyone who is willing to take the time to practice may achieve. Enjoy the journey my friend… for now… Namaste, Suzy 😊 I’m so excited! Lessons from Meerah: How a rescued Arabian mare helped me evolve as a horsewoman is published😊 And even though I channeled some wisdom from my Spirit Guide, Yellow Dog, at the end of this entry, he had little to do with helping me to write this book. However, he was always near, as I healed my pre-conditioned fearful worrisome self to live in a state of joy and oneness while around my new generation of horses.
I still missed my old horse that had died. I wished she could have lived forever and wouldn’t have grown old. But time does tick forward, horses approach their thirties and, eventually pass into spirit. I considered getting out of horses completely, but I knew I would miss sharing time with my horse-riding friends. And so, I pressed forward, trying to mold my green, five-year-old Arabian mare into a suitable replacement. Emotionally, I have lived in a dual world for years when I worked with my horses. Part of me was the “professional psychic and energy healer,” working out of my heart chakra, sensing the “oneness of all” and sharing inspirational messages with clients. And then there was my equestrian-self, conditioned to illicit the proper response out of my horse, demanding perfection out of my mount, and quick to administer negative reinforcement if my horse did not respond as I had intended her too. How did I fall into this trap, this duality of being loving and accepting of how I fit into the “Universe” while, at the same time, demanding that another living being bend to my will? I suppose one could say it was cultural conditioning. Or, perhaps, was this simply a form of behavioral habit? Like the fictious mobster who kills a person during a weekday and prays in church on a Sunday. My “mobster job” was to achieve a BLUE ribbon while my spiritual self could lapse into a heart-centered meditation to “clear” any guilt afterwards. Funny, but I never realized how ridiculous this all sounds until I’ve written it down… Being critical of self, or rather critiquing myself into the “Show Ring” standard of perfection I wanted to exemplify set me on a path of redundancy. For one can never achieve true “perfection.” Instead of tweaking my horse’s head, or slowing down her stride, or looking to “cheat” when the judge wasn’t watching, I should have simply looked for the joy in my ride. Many forms of “Natural Horsemanship” don’t use negative reinforcement, but rather gives the horse a choice. My Arabian mare, Meerah, taught me to listen to the emotions of my horse, to read what the horse was contemplating, and only then would I take part in the dance called horseback riding. And in this book, I share all my triumphs, and many tragedies, as I reprogramed my mind to ask the horse, watch the body language, and gauge the upcoming response instead of simply DEMANDING a response that I wanted. The result was a feeling of joy when I would ride, and not that sense of “hope I survive.” For one can’t force an animal to prance and be happy if they are not. A good ride is a state of shared joy between the rider and the horse… a dance of sorts. Because it is the joy of the pair that is truly being judged. But there is more… For what is the purpose of the ride if not for happiness. What is the purpose of living if not for wholeness? Be part of your intention and allow the intention to unfold. Yes, a recipe, or a plan, might form a timeline of action. But be flexible and allow that timeline to morph. For you, or you and your horse, are not alone while riding in a show. No, you are but two players within a cast of four, or six, or eight, or more. And every player in that scenario has a part to play and a goal to achieve. Some may want to achieve a higher standard than another. One person might be fearful of falling. While another person harbors doubt over their ability to execute a movement. And all these players form the symphony of your riding class in the horse show. Don’t you see that control is futile? Yes, “luck” as you call it can prevail. But wouldn’t living in the joy of the moment harbor the most lucrative of results? And so Yellow Dog has shared his wisdom about the book. The purpose of this blog entry is not to recant the plot of my story, but rather to explain WHY I wrote Lessons from Meerah. We are all spiritual beings living in a three-dimensional reality. And I challenge you, my reader, to re-evaluate your path, your ENTIRE path, towards enlightenment. And so, I’ll share with you the misinterpretation that I had towards mine through this book.
